Poor Ted

Came home yesterday afternoon after being to a garden centre to find our six month old puppy Ted in a lot of pain and walking with an arched back. Now he had been to the vets earlier in the week for x-rays and we were told then that his big long bone was growing a different rate to another bone in his leg and it was this that was causing the pain (growing pains)! He was given a couple of injections and a cause of tablets, but all they really seemed to have done was made him very sleepy.

Anyway we called the vet and it was arranged that an emergency visit was called for along with a forty pound call out charge. This second vet took a look at him and diagnosed the same problem, and gave Ted an injection and a larger dose of tablets. This dose was the maxium for a dog of Ted’s size (31kg). He also took a couple of blood samples to check just in case they might indicate other problems. We walked out after paying £110 and this morning Ted is more like him old self again, wanting to play with Charlie constantly. He is going back in to the vets first thing tomorrow morning just to make sure things are ok - good job we got Ted insured as in less than 2 weeks Ted has visited the vet 3 times now and it has cost us over £220[exclaim]
