Its Thursday already and I’m working from home again, as I have been all week other than Tuesday because of the snow [eek]

Had an electrical gadget that we ordered turn up in the post yesterday. We have had a shock recently with the electric company putting our bill up by £100 a month - ouch! So we are trying to identify what is using all the electric. On average we are using 40 units a day - how do I know that? Well we had to do a 7 day test where by we had to read the meter at the same time every day, it worked out we were using 40 units a day. We had the electric company come out and install a second meter, so we now have 2 in our cupboard and they both read the same so its not a fault meter - damn!

Anyway this gadget that turned up, you plug it in to a socket then plug your appliance in to it and it tells you how many amps, watts it is pulling as well as how long it has been on for and even the number of units it has used since being on. It can even work out how much it has cost to run if you put your price per unit in to it! It can even cope if you have 2 rates, one for different times of the day [smile]

I’m glad to say it is not all my computer equipment that is using all the electric [biggrin]

At the weekend we are emptying the fridgefreezer so that we can move it in order to get to the plug, it is tucked away in a cupboard. We have an idea after what a friend told us that it maybe the fridgefreezer. It is over 10 years old, so it could be! First on the list is the new pump we fitted just before xmas!
